Preparation spot on, changing room banter spot on, warm up spot on, game plan spot on, application spot on (particularly 1st half), attitude spot on...abillity...well they had more of that than us, lets be honest. Well done ressies, forget the result, wasnt a true reflection of the game, well done first team, you are a great side.
I'm sure the 1st team will say they had a different gear, they arnt unbeaten and top of the league for no reason - hats off and respect......but ultimately 'whatever', thats why we are the ressies - we had our chances and deserved a little bit more from the game in my opinion.
A pen and three cracking 2nd half goals from some quality players undid us, lets take the postives and focus on applying them in the next match.
On a slightly negative note, being a newcomer to the club I have always been sceptical about Meathead's bitching about the support shown from the club for the ressies. In short, you have to take your hat of to Bel for everything he does, its probably the best organised club Ive played, also to Granty for putting on quality training week in and week out. If anything, I'd say that at times the players dont support the club enough (thats another post im sure).
All of the above said, I have to say I was slightly disappointed that there was a lack of comment or feedback from the sidelines during todays match for the ressies. I didnt hear any calls at all during the game, I did hear plenty of coaching and instruction from the sideline for the first team though. Bothered about that...mildly, but given the lack of a manager watching the game from the side a little bit of feedback, coaching and encouragement at halftime for us would have been welcomed. For me that justfied some of Meathead comments....sorry, just how I feel.
On a brighter note, nice to see Weighty getting a run out...

Pretty much agree with everything you've said Buzz.
The one interesting point is the feedback from the line. For obvious reasons that was the quietest i have been at a game for a very long time and as much as i would have liked to have offered some comments or feedback i personally didn't feel it would be right of me to interfere so chose to keep away from both sides, especially at half time. I'm not saying everybody felt the same but it is a possibility. I did offer a little advice after the game as i don't feel that the forum is always the best outlet to discuss everything.

Everything was spot on Buzz you are absolutely right and we have to take that into every game from now on if we are to maintain our push for glory. Firstly there is no shame in losing to the first team, they should be beating the Reserves and deservedly so they did, so well done to them. It was always going to be a damn big mountain to climb. Like you though, 5-0 is a bit harsh in my eyes though. Three tremendous strikes which would have beaten any keepers, one pen and the other a gift to there guy on the edge of the 6yd box. Of course they had lots of possession and were always going to with the way we set out but it would have been double the scoreline had we just played openly. Formation was spot on for the game it was. But lets be fair, we also created a few great chances ourselves and a couple of incidents could have possibly gone the other way (in my opinion). That's certainly not me saying it would have changed the outcome because it definitely wouldn't have, it just would have given us a little bit more belief. Glad the game is over, gives us chance to remove oursleves from peoples pockets and move on to our next game. Must win games for us now to catch back up with Imperium. I know you made reference to the support from the sideline Buzz but don't forget, Scotty May was missing for us boys. Roll on our next game. UTR

On a serious note chaps, i'm guilty of moaning to El Bel about things (he'll confirm that), but if we dish it out we also have to be big enough to say thanks when people do help. So just to show it didn't go unnoticed gents, Ozzo cheers for sorting the ref out for us, El Bel/Yarn/SOS cheers for helping sort the kit afterwards, Willsy's old man cheers for grabbing the crossbar on his own (where the rest of our boys were for that one i'm not sure - inquest needed) and El Bel for all the other bits and bobs, genuinely it did make our life easier. For us Ressies I know we feel like we are in a bit of turmoil at the minute but this is where we all step up to the plate. Everyone can help, water bottles, match fee off the opposition, subs, match team sheet, valuables, dirty kit afterwards, probably missed some other bits but generally if everyone just takes it by the scruff of the neck and doesn't leave it for someone else to do, life will be much easier. Or we can just let DC do it all so he can moan to El Bel. TOGETHER for the rest of the season and we won't go far wrong. Turmoil? We win our games in hand I think we are 1 point off the leaders so I ask, what turmoil. Smally, great attitude for running the line for us.

Buzz and Fabio are spot on with what they've said! The preparation was much better this week than it probably has been since Dan hasn't been about, we were there, early got the goals up,got out and did the warm up and performed admirably for 70 minutes playing with an untried formation against the best team we'll play all season! A few people went up in my estimations and a couple went down for various things that occurred on the day!!
If we take that effort in to the rest of our games then I can only see one outcome from this season and that's another title for the reserves!!

I must admit i was impressed with how well the ressies organised themselves on and off the pitch. Of course it would be nice if we can get some help for you guys (especially on the touchline) and i will keep trying but you proved yesterday that with everyone just helping out a little you should be ok. What you did prove is that the best help you can get in life is when you help yourself.
Interesting point DC made about people going up/down in his estimations (hope he didn't include himself in that). You always find out more about people when things get tough but i didn't see anything yesterday that has changed my mind. I think you've got a good squad of decent guys and if you focus more on the positives and get yourself a little bit more organised you will succeed.

I've seen all that's been put on the forum about the 1st etc and I'm going to take some time to think of how I can write down what I think cos I don't want to intentionally upset anyone!

Wrighty on a slightly different note, how on earth did the league committee overlook you for the 'League Select' game tomorrow night?? I'm guessing you wasn't available on the days that they watched.
El Bel it's a shame we lost Micky Gace as he was a great help for us but that was out of everyones hands we know that. It's now time for us to roll up our sleeves, stop our bitching and get on with it. With 13/14 there on a match day it's just about responsibility.
Going back to Sunday for the Ressies to get more perspective on it, lets not forget that the First Team that we faced are current treble winners from last season and are well in the hunt for another one this year, that would be an unbelievable acheivement (and possibly never done before by anyone), so at the end of the day, we done damn well to do what we did.

Well done ressies on Sunday , I honestly think the score line was a bit flattering , and you lot had fair chances in the first 30 mins . Your post buzz is spot on and I fully agree with it . But why does it take a game like that to pull everyone together ? Surely preparation should be spot on for all matches . Trouble with team sport , when things aren't going right , everyone else is to blame bar ME ! There wasn't much input from line on Sunday , I think cos it wasn't an ideal fixture , my personal opinion is I didn't enjoy the game or result one bit .

I know Fabio it's criminal really but I'll spend the evening polishing all those trophies I've won since joining our great club. As for input from the sideline Buzz I can honestly say that's the quietest I've known Yarn,Bell,Granty,Noz etc. I was shouting (as always) but for the 90mins I had to treat you boys like any other side and that's a team who were trying to stop us from winning.

Granty I don't think it was so much that it was a game against the 1st team that made us more organised, but rather the clarity in our situation going forward for the rest of the season with certain people being asked to get involved more!! The thing that pleased me the most about the day was how well the lads adapted to the new formation seeing as it's the first time we've even considered playing it this season!

Because of the amount there is Wrighty do you have them in one of those hired storage containers?? I have to agree with SOS, we should be spot on for every game and can we honestly say that had it not been for the fact that we were playing against the first team, would we have really been as organised as we were, i'd have to say probably not, it would have just been like any other sunday. But, it is something for us to build on week in week out now. I see your point though Hoddle in that now a few more people have been asked to get involved with what is hopefully only a short term absence for Lombardo, it meant that with the extra impetus on the game of a so called 'crack' at the first team, we maybe dug a little bit deeper with getting everything sorted so that we were prepared for battle. There's sitting on the fence for you!! El Bel you must be missing all our moaning.

Im still a few behind you though Fabio. I hope that the reserves kick on starting this Sunday and hopefully after the last game of the season we'll have 2 league titles to celebrate just like 2 seasons ago!!
